I am a native Californian and have lived in Yucca Valley for the past 12 years. My career is teaching but my heart has always been with the arts. I have my degree in art and over the years have worked with many different mediums. I have worked with everything from traditional oils and acrylics to Batik dyes, from weavings to sculptures. Now, working with gourds, I have found my love. Each piece is a unique blend of pyrography; which is the using of heat to draw, carve, or scorch designs, and a combination of acrylic paint and colored pencils. I am able to blend my love of nature and the outdoors with my art in each signed “One of a kind” piece, which I believe will withstand the test of time!
